“Not so hasty, not so hasty!”
Jonbiro Mataki is a wandering monk, practising an amalgamation of Shinto and Buddhist teachings. Jonbiro was raised in a Bhuddist temple in the hills of Kara country, T-55. He made his way to T-63 having defeated three fighters from his homeworld. Having killed his first opponent, a fighter named Harus Harus, he went on to kill Handoko Gatt, and is currently fighting Rizumé Geroad. Mataki’s power is derived from devout training and years’ worth of meditation. His own willingness to undergo stress to save energy is a testament to this man’s power and resolve, as he only uses his built up ‘ki’ in unavoidable circumstances.
Mataki retired after the death of his charge, Rizumé Geroud, and is now on another pilgrimage as a monk.
Mataki is of middling to bulky build, well-muscled and toned for his age. He wears a white gi robe and brown leather jacket, and a string of wooden prayer beads around his neck. He wears a straw rain hat and tall traditional wooden sandals. He carries a modified naginata and has a large bottle-gourd slung across his back, which he removes before a fight.

Jonbiro wields a traditional Japanese sohei weapon, the naginata. The shaft of Jonbiro’s naginata is hollowed however, and a pistol grip and firing mechanism are affixed to the weapon about halfway up the haft. This firing system allows for the propulsion of cast iron ball bearings fired by Jonbiro’s own energy. The blade itself is high carbon steel.

Ki Release: Ni Ten Ichi Ryu- Two Heavens as One
Ni Ten Ichi Ryu!
Mataki has the ability to release his energy in a burst, forcing him into a state of enhanced physical power. In this form, Mataki can unveil his secret weapon- another pair of arms, bandaged to his torso. His enhanced strength grants his incredible speed and power, and also allows him to utilise a Kiai, a shout that acts as a blast of energy.
Ki Release: Spirit Wave
Mataki is able to project a wave of energy, by use of a stomp and dual palm strike. This takes the form of a golden wave of ki.
